The House

The Old Rectory is situated on a wonderful site in the Wolds. It is set in just 5 acres of grounds and gardens, nestling in the hillside, facing south west with unparalleled views over undulating countryside to Lincoln Cathedral sitting on the famous Lincoln Edge. There are no near neighbours and the whole ambience is one of complete rural tranquillity.

The origins of the house are probably 16th. century with Georgian and later Victorian additions to a farmhouse. From 1840 the house was the home of the first Rector, the Rev. John Jackson - whose home is described in Kelly's Directory as "a neat residence" - and was in the gift of Keble College, Oxford and the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. It became a private dwelling in 1930. Whilst the house now comprises all the comforts of modern living, many original features have been retained and visitors will enjoy both the comfort and character.

We aim to provide superior en-suite rooms. The Tennyson is a spacious room with a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with bath shower and bidet, and great views.
